The Education Endowment Foundation provides evidence-informed guidance and resources to support schools and early years settings in improving teaching, learning and children’s outcomes.

The EYFS statutory framework for group and school-based providers is effective from 1 September 2025. Leaders should ensure that policies, procedures and daily practice are aligned with the current requirements for learning and development, assessment, safeguarding and welfare.

Key areas to review include safeguarding procedures, child absence, safer recruitment and references, staff training and supervision, paediatric first aid, nutrition, assessment and transition.
